Nikita Theme Song

2010 TV series

Researching for La Femme Nikita, I discovered that a 2010 remake featuring the sizzling hot Maggie Q as Nikita will premiere this fall. Now, I don’t know how much truth there is to this information, but Wikipedia claims that the show will feature Rihanna’s “Rockstar 101” as its theme song. In any case, this post will be corrected and updated once the show airs; I just want to get ahead of things.

“Rockstar 101” is the fourth single from Rihanna’s 2009 release Rated R.

NCIS: Los Angeles Theme Song

Now, for something that stars LL Cool J—washed out rapper turned walking tree trunk—it would only make sense that he would lend his skills in making a kick-ass theme song. Just kidding about the “washed out” though, I do know he is a staple in the world of hip hop.

The theme song for NCIS: Los Angeles is called “NCIS: No Crew Is Superior.” LL Cool J partnered with producer C. “Tricky” Stewart and released it as a single in September 2009. According to LL, it was the musical interpretation of what he felt after meeting with real NCIS agents.

However…

If you’ve at least watched an episode of NCIS: Los Angeles, you’d know that this song is not used in the opening. The opening theme is the one in the video below.

You’d probably be surprised to know that the song sounds awfully like “Alex on the Spot,” a song used in Madagascar: Escape 2 Africa. Play the video below first, then click here.

Sons of Anarchy Theme Song

Gotta love Sons of Anarchy…

Sons of Anarchy has had a lot of cool, notable songs since its conception in 2008. However, the main theme song in question is “This Life,” credited to a group called Curtis Stigers & The Forest Rangers.

Although Curtis Stigers is a known musician, I have no information as to the members and whereabouts of The Forest Rangers. However, there is an article entitled “Velvet Revolver’s Dave Kushner co-writes ‘Sons of Anarchy’ theme song.” Whether or not Dave Kushner is a part of The Forest Rangers, I do not know.

In addition, Curtis Stigers & The Forest Rangers is credited to another Sons of Anarchy-used song called “John the Revelator.” And, two five-song EPs (exclusive to iTunes) have been released: Sons of Anarchy: North Country and Sons of Anarchy: Shelter. I don’t know crap about iTunes so maybe you can just do a search.

Sons of Anarchy theme song lyrics

Riding through this world, all alone
God takes your soul; you’re on your own
The crow flies straight, a perfect line
On the devil’s back until you die

This life is short, baby that’s a fact
Better live it right, you ain’t coming back
Gotta raise some hell before they take you down
Gotta live this life

Gotta look this world in the eye
Gotta live this life ’till you die
You better have soul, nothing less
Cause when it’s business time, it’s life or death

The King is dead, the light goes on
Don’t lose your head when the deal goes down
Better keep your eyes on the road ahead
Gotta live this life

Gotta look this world in the eye
Gotta live this life until you die

Update (January 18, 2011); Belfast theme song update

As this post constantly ranks in the top results for Google, I have to keep the information updated. For those of you (us) who religiously follow SoA, you’d know that in the final episodes of season three, when the story is set in Belfast, Ireland, the show’s producers decided to appropriately match the opening and theme song with a sort of Irish remix. Anyway, below is the Belfast version. The video I got kind of sucks—for some reason it has mirror-image scenes—but it will work for now. See below.

Intervention Theme Song

The Intervention theme song—the one that is actually played at the end of the show, is entitled “Five Steps.” It is performed by an American rock band from Brooklyn, New York called The Davenports, and is from their debut album Speaking of The Davenports. “Five Steps” was composed by their front man, Scott Klass.

Intervention is a reality-based television series about the issues faced by addicts of many kinds. It has been on air on the cable television network, A&E since 2005.

Lyrics of Five Steps

Veins swell
You know me, Ellen, enough to tell
Five steps you’re over

Quick cut
Make your move deliberate
Five steps you’re over

No reprimand
Deliberate, demand
With your two feet at hand

Get back
This train’s a comin’ down the track
Five steps you’re over
