Knight Rider Theme Song

1982-1986

This is for the original 1980s Knight Rider, not the crappy 2008 remake. (I loved this show.)

The television series had a very strong and unique theme song. It was composed by legendary composer, Stu Phillips, who also composed the theme for the original Battlestar Galactica. The song is simply referred to as “Theme from Knight Rider” or “Knight Rider main theme.”

It can be found on the original television soundtrack album, The Stu Phillips Scores: Knight Rider.

What the narrator is saying…

Knight Rider. A shadowy flight into the dangerous world of a man who does not exist. Michael Knight, a young loner on a crusade to champion the cause of the innocent, the helpless, the powerless, in a world of criminals who operate above the law.

Michael Knight, a lone crusader in a dangerous world, the world… of the Knight Rider.

KITT was voiced by American actor William Daniels, I am not sure if he narrated the intro as well.

  1. The Knight Rider theme narration was by the late Richard Baseheart who played the captain on Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.
