The theme song for The Golden Girls is “Thank You for Being a Friend.” It was originally performed and written by Andrew Gold in 1978, and was part of his third album All This and Heaven Too. The version used for the show was sung by Cynthia Fee.

  1. For the longest time, I thought the lyrics for the line “the card attached would say…” was “the heart attack would say…” That never made any sense. Now I know why!
