Circus Theme Song

Alright, so in this blog, we’re not limited to television shows and movies. What we’re going to tackle in this post is the theme song to, well, circuses. Circus—as in clowns, rodeos, flying trapezes. Yes, I believe circuses have theme songs. It’s not official however (how can it be), but the whole world recognizes it.

The theme song in question is called “Entrance of the Gladiators” (sometimes also credited as “Entry of the Gladiators”). It was composed in 1897 by Czech composer Julius Fučík. He also was a conductor of military bands, which is probably why the song is a known military march (type of composition).

Now listen to the song and tell me clowns do not come to mind.
